Indexing made us TrafficKing

Posted by teky on October 1, 2007

This blog successfully crossed 2600 hits(and counting!!!). Created on March 12 2007 just 6 months were rolled out, this was really shown a successful traffic. As you can see in the left sidebar of our blog you can see the hit rate and even now u can see the stats directly. Wanna see the traffic of ITbuds blog with country wise, state wise, city wise? Click on those links and u can see the truth. Great news was that we have got indexed in Google Images. That is when u search as “itbuds” in google images u can see the images that were published in this blog will be listed as search result. Really nice to hear na!! Yeah, because text indexing was very easy in Google. i.e when u create a blog it will be indexed(text alone) in Google within one or two weeks and then constantly updated. But image indexing will make more time. If once the file named Googlebot (name of the crawler file that google will kept in ur site or blog) entered in your site and then whatever u publish it will be indexed immediately in google. Where as in other sites (yahoo,MSN or windows live) it will not happen. That’s why google rules. This blog itself indexed in Yahoo,MSN in the end of august only. You can check that also by clicking for yahoo and MSN. It’s all happened due to the high traffic we are getting. As our college alumni’s all over the world were watching our blog through the link that we kept in orkut. We are getting international traffic. I would like to thank all our readers on this occasion. Keep reading and post your comments.

Another Great news is that many guys were started to create their own blogs after visiting this blog. Guys were rocking by publishing cool and useful infos. And I want to mention one thing here for those who want to start a blog and started just now. Blog (Biographical Log) was just like writing diary about your day to day happenings, experiences. So it will be better if you write something in your blog as your own rather than publishing some collected infos from other sites. That can be a part of a blog but most things can be your own publishes. That makes the reader interesting to read and make a returning visit. That’s what we are getting here (Final Countdown post is an nice example). Who knows even blogging can get you a job. You can impress the world by your publishes. Now s/w company people are encouraging everyone to start blogging. That will  makes a change. So keep reading and blogging….

    Dear Juniors,

Gulping down breakfast after a quick shower, you put on your denims; a cool shirt freshened with some deodorant and leave for college, speeding on College bus/City bus.

At rest room you give yourself a final look and set your hair in the wash basin mirror.
At balcony you’ll make small chats like, “Finished assignment?”, “HOD Leave a?” etc.

Then you enter your class after meeting some friends, 15 minutes after the lecture has begun. You select the last bench behind a huge and tall guy and patiently wait only to sleep or to write observation/record/assignments or to give attendance.

Almost all students keep gazing at the professor but with their minds somewhere down in the canteen or at the door, waiting for `that someone’ to come or thinking of that special appointment you have on that day.

There are a handful of sincere first-bench-students (Pazham), who attend each and every lecture and have all the detailed notes, which the outstanding students, (students who are always standing out) can photocopy a few days before the examinations.

Joking and gossiping from behind your DSP/Computer Architecture Notes or playing cross and knots in the most boring lecture during which half the class is already snoring, were some of the methods adopted to kill time.

By the end of the lecture, everyone is restless and keeps glancing at their watches, dropping bags. The professor mercilessly continues teaching.

Assignment Submissions/Project Review is the only time you get to see all your classmates, who are those familiar faces that we often saw at Aarthi/Siva/Uma/Rajendra Theatres or at Aachis.
The bell rings and everyone is out of the class, meeting friends at the Stone bench/library or in the canteen.

During winters its fun, to sip a nice hot cup of coffee, exchanging secret smiles and then telling your friends of your latest crush.

The thrill of bunking lectures, the fun of partying or going for movies and picnics, the joy when you receive the long desired `yes’ from the one you have always loved, or the embarrassment of facing the person you were talking about, who all the while was standing just beside you, are truly unforgettable times.

Who can forget the numerous pranks we played. The first time we spoke or were introduced to the one we secretly admired and loved. Selecting the best place in the canteen and grabbing the opportunity to talk and sit beside her. The naughty smiles, the comments of friends, passing your critical opinion of those you envied and hated.

The taste of tears when you lost your friends, the heartache when you were ditched and dumped. These are moments that can make emotions flow at any time in life.

Times when you have to pay your exam fees and arrive at the cash counter only to find a big queue ,and the cashier on the counter having a `I don’t care about you’ kind of attitude, laughing and chatting with girls while the rest of boys frown.

The Rose day, the Sari day and gathering, are the most awaited days in the college when every boy and girl `dress-to-kill’ and have a gala time. Hey! Don’t forget Friendship day, Rakhi Day, Valentine’s Day and other days for expressing our feelings.

    And now, talking of our teachers who scream to fill something in our empty upper chambers and help us to fill the answer book which we get somewhere around December/April. And what do we say about them;

    “Bore adikkiraandaa ?”
    “Why blood? Same blood!”
    “Imsa Panraandaa machan!”
or just keep commenting on the way they look, dress or talk.
I will never forget my college years; they have been the best years in my life till now. I have seen, learnt and experienced so much.

I have found friends; some didn’t care and drifted apart. I will always remember my favorite place in college, my professors, the canteen coffee, and all my friends, those innocent and decent faces of people who turned out to be devils in disguise.
All the twists in the kaleidoscope of life are experiences that have helped me mature. I will cherish them forever.

So enjoy your college life because these moments will never come again. At the same time don’t forget that it is not your own but your parents’ money which you spend. We owe a lot to them but we don’t realize it.

Don’t be the cause of embarrassment, shame and disgrace to them. At least make an effort to stand-up somewhere close to their expectations. Remember just a few moments can ruin your entire future.

One has to keep a fine balance. Enjoy yourself while in college, but remember there is a reason to be in college. The next 30 to 40 years of your life will shape up on the basis of how you spend your time in college.

Enjoy your final days in college!!!
    All the best!!!

    Regards
    Thiruppathi Muthukumar
    Rebellious when restricted!!!
